Child Care Roundtable Discussion

You’re invited to join us for a child care round table discussion featuring Akron Mayor Daniel Horrigan and Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley this Friday, July 17th from 11 AM to 12 PM. During the webinar, participants will discuss the critical role child care plays in supporting families, businesses, and the local economy. Round table participants will include:

Join Cuyahoga Job and Family Services (CJFS), part of the Dept. of Health and Human Services, for the next series of Community Partner Conversations. In our effort to continue to provide you with important updates and information about CJFS, we are hosting this series virtually.

Due to COVID-19, CJFS has made various adjustments to business processes and policies based on guidance from Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and Ohio Department of Medicaid.

During the virtual Community Partner Conversations, we will:
• Provide agency updates on our ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic;
• Policy reviews covering Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Childcare benefits; and
• Helpful resources to support assisters in navigating the customer’s experience accessing public benefits.

Successful coping skills and conflict resolution in early childhood contribute to a child’s long term quality of life. Participants who attend this workshop will explore and identify a variety of strategies that will foster critical skills in young children.

Session #4: Grow Happy Kids                                                                                            

For some children, learning about healthy eating and exercise can be very challenging. In this workshop participants will explore like scientists and explain several strategies for making healthy lifestyles with young children easier and more successful.
