Free training provided by the Hopewell Health Centers, Inc. in partnership with Whole Child Matters Grant Partners
Day 1: Creating a Trauma Sensitive Environment.
- Participants will identify six guiding principles to trauma informed care, strategies for implementation, and the positive impact trauma sensitive environments have on children, families, and relationships. Participants will be paired with ECMH consultants to develop strategic plans and identify resources to utilize for implementation with their own environments.
Day 2: Utilizing Cultural and Linguistic Humility to Understand, Appreciate, and Engage Families.
- Families are a vital part of a child’s development and education. In order to encourage familial engagement, participants will be encouraged to reflect on current practices, cultural humility, personal bias, and strategies for engagement. Additionally, participants will identify the benefits of true engagement and how it differs from involvement and also identify ideas to help families engage. Participants will be paired with ECMH consultants to work on strategic planning for implementing change in their own environments.
