  • All workshops are FREE and Ohio Approved.
  • You must register for each workshop separately by the deadline listed on OCCRRA.
  • Earn a total of 2 Ohio Approved hours FREE for each workshop, or a total of 8 Ohio Approved hours for the workshop series!

Session #1: Effective Learning

Effective learning is critical to the development of young children. Participants who attend this training will be able to describe effective learning through play and will explore a variety of strategies that will support children’s learning experiences.

Session #2: Red/Green Choices Behavior Management                                  

Early childhood professionals who attend this training will be introduced to identifying strategies to use with young children to address behavior and will have the opportunity to practice a variety of engaging instructional strategies that support management of preschool children.

Session #3: Calming Down and Kindness in the Classroom                                                                          

Successful coping skills and conflict resolution in early childhood contribute to a child’s long term quality of life. Participants who attend this workshop will explore and identify a variety of strategies that will foster critical skills in young children.

Session #4: Grow Happy Kids                                                                                            

For some children, learning about healthy eating and exercise can be very challenging. In this workshop participants will explore like scientists and explain several strategies for making healthy lifestyles with young children easier and more successful.

Understanding and Responding to Social/Emotional/Behavioral Special Needs in Child Care

Participants will learn how to provide Trauma Informed Care, practice Self Care, Understand DECA results and choose strategies for their classroom for common behavioral concerns.

This training will be conducted live using the Zoom conferencing platform.  Several days before the event, registrants will receive an email with a link to register on Starting Point’s Zoom website.  Once you have completed the Zoom registration process, you will receive another email with the link to join the event.

In order to receive credit for live online trainings, participants must be logged on to Zoom and actively engaged throughout the entire session.  By embedding activity prompts, discussion questions, and polls, instructors are able to engage learners while keeping track of attendance and engagement.  Participants who fail to respond to prompts and questions are assumed inactive and may be omitted from attendance records.

Overview of Disability Awareness and Legislation Childcare Programs need to know. How to identify early warning signs of disabilities and the use of strategies and resources to adapt classrooms to include and be able to accommodate young children with a variety of disabilities.

This training will be conducted live using the Zoom conferencing platform.  Several days before the event, registrants will receive an email from the OCCRRA messaging system with an invitation to register on Zoom.  The link to register is provided in that email.  Once you have completed the Zoom registration process, you will receive an additional email with the link to join the event.
