OhioGuidestone is one of Ohio’s leading providers of Early Childhood Services that help parents develop their children’s social, emotional, and behavioral skills from ages 0-6 years old. Their suite of programs include counseling and treatment, early childhood and family services, job training, foster care, and addiction recovery for families and children in 11 counties in northern Ohio.
OhioGuidestone, which was founded in 1864 to help care for children orphaned in the Civil War, continues to drive health, well-being and research to advance mental health and meet the needs of families.

Holli manages all child, adolescent and adult community counseling programs in Cuyahoga County and directs the highly specialized Early Childhood Mental Health program, which incorporates cutting-edge research and innovation in working with families and children ages birth to 6 years who experience trauma and toxic stress. Holli is also a clinical fellow with OhioGuidestone’s Institute of Family and Community Impact, where she serves as a co-investigator on research protocols and evaluates programs and tools for improving child and family outcomes. She is co-author of a neuroscience-based intervention to increase childhood resilience and improve relationships in families. Holli also serves as Chair of the Northeast Chapter of the Ohio Association for Infant Mental Health. Holli earned her Master of Science in Social Administration degree from Case Western Reserve University.Healthy Habits- ST# 10086019. This session focuses on supporting teachers to build healthy habits in early learning environments. This is Part 3. You must attend all four parts to receive credit.
Part 1 – The importance of providing physical activity opportunities in child care settings will be stressed.
Part 2 – The role of how adults support children in feeding and eating will be discussed. Participants will learn basic nutrition and tips on how to encourage new foods in a healthy manner.
Part 3 – Participants will discuss what constitutes a healthy body weight for children. Ideas for healthy growing will be further explored through discussion of how healthy food can be grown in child care settings.
Part 4 – This last session of the Healthy Habits series focuses on strategies to encourage parent outreach.
Training is free, participants will receive 10 Ohio Approved Step Up hours upon completion of ALL FOUR classes in the session.

Cuyahoga Community College invites you to participate in a powerful learning experience that creates insight into the chronic crisis that consumes so many working poor families. FREE.
The poverty simulation experience is designed to help participants begin to understand what it might be like to live in a typical low-income family trying to survive from month to month. It is a simulation, not a game. The object is to sensitize participants to the realities faced by low-income people.
CAPS exists to:
·Promote Poverty Awareness
During the simulation, role-play a month in poverty and experience low-income families’ lives.
·Increase Understanding
After the simulation, you will unpack your learning and brainstorm community change.
·Inspire Local Change
Together, you can be a voice to end poverty in your family, friends and community.
